Pastor Peter’s Pod

Kia ora e te Whānau

This weekend begins a season of transition amongst the staff team and church, as Andrea steps back from her role as Church Administrator, as Margaret steps into that same role and makes it her own, as I reduce back from full-time working to 3 days a week, and as Helen increases her role slightly to pick up some of what I won’t be doing! We have a strong sense of being team together, though, so I am confident that we will work through the changes which come about without dropping too many balls!

One key thing we need to do to mark this transition is to farewell and thank Andrea for all she has done in her role over so many years. We’re hoping to do that as a staff very soon by having lunch together. And then, once we can meet again as church, we’ll do something one Sunday where we can all thank Andrea and express our appreciation for all she has done. So, you may like to start thinking of all the things you have appreciated about Andrea in her time as Administrator and be ready to share them with her when the time comes! ☺

Times of transition can be unsettling,  of course – and against the backdrop of the current pandemic, probably more so. Please, if you have any concerns or worries about how things are going, get in touch with me or with Helen, or with any of the Governance Team. We’d be very happy to listen and see what we can do to ensure everything is OK.

As the pandemic heads towards peak here in Canterbury (we hope!) we’re giving thought to how and when we open things up a bit more with church meetings – I’ll update you when I can but, weather permitting, I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to do some things together over Easter weekend – as mentioned in last week’s Newsletter, we have a plan for a family friendly weekend. In the meantime, if there’s someone you haven’t seen for a while, and you’re wondering how they are – why not give them a call?!

Bless you all heaps!

Peter
