Ilam Baptist Church is part of the Baptist Union of Churches in New Zealand, and meets in the suburb of Ilam in Christchurch. There are about 120 adult Ilamites and over 50 primary school and pre-school aged children, who live all over the city. There is also a flourishing, community-based youth group for secondary school students called NQA (not quite angels). On Sundays we gather at the Ilam School hall on Ilam Road, next to Canterbury University. Ilam Baptist Church aspires to grow maturing followers of Jesus who journey together, exploring faith, sharing struggles, celebrating joys and living faith creatively in the world. Our missions group, Missionscope is one important way those values find expression.
